By car

The most convenient option. Onda is ~25 km from Castellon (CV-20) and ~70 km from Valencia (A-23 or N-340). From the AP-7 motorway, exit onto the CV-20 towards Onda.

Regular service Onda-Castellon

By bus

Autobuses Furio (Transvia group) runs regular services between Onda, Vila-real and Castellon, with stops at Renfe station, the Hospital de la Plana and the UJI university. From Valencia, change in Castellon. Info: 964 600 100.

Nearest station: Castellon

By train

Onda has no railway station. The nearest is Castellon de la Plana (Renfe), from where you can continue by bus (Furio) or taxi (~30 min). Vila-real also has a commuter rail link with a connecting bus service.

Valencia VLC · ~70 km

By plane

The most practical airport is Valencia (VLC), ~70 km away, with a wide range of international routes. Castellon Airport is closer (~30 km) but has limited routes. From both airports, the best option is to hire a car or take a taxi.

Taxi in Onda

There is no single radio-taxi service. Some local taxi drivers operating in Onda: Taxi Onda David (697 557 961, 24 h service, airport transfers, taxionda.es); Juan Jose Piquer (660 388 451, 7-seat vehicle); Taxi Jose Blazquez (615 156 622, 24 h). It is worth checking or asking at the Tourist Info before you travel.

Four key points to organise your visit to Onda without any surprises.

Best time to visit

Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November): mild temperatures, no crowds and the countryside at its finest. In summer it's worth arriving early for the castle and bringing water. If you come in October, the Fira d'Onda 2026 has its main week from the 16th.

Castle of the 300 Towers

Free entry. Open Tuesday-Sunday morning and afternoon; closed on Mondays. Allow around 2 hours to visit at a relaxed pace. Wear comfortable shoes as the terrain is uneven.

Parking

There is free parking next to the castle entrance and free street parking around the town centre. Avoid the Friday market if you don't want to hunt for parking. Full parking guide for Onda →

Budget guide

The cultural visit has a token cost: the main sights (Castle, Prison Tower, Molí de la Reixa) charge from €3-4 each, with a combined ticket for €10 (all prices). A set lunch costs between 12 and 15 euros. Accommodation in Onda from around 50 euros per night.
