The Ceramics Park is Onda's largest and best-equipped green space. It sits at the northern edge of town, on Avenida Anselmo Coyne, just over a kilometre from the historic quarter. From its viewpoints you can see the castle on one side and the Sierra Espadán in the background: one of those places where a visit to the park and a visit to the town naturally overlap.

The park works well year-round: mornings bring joggers and walkers weaving between the trees, spring and autumn afternoons are especially peaceful, and in summer the main draw is the splashpad, which turns the park into the city's liveliest family gathering point.

July and August

The splashpad (ground-level water play area) opens in summer with jets, showers and water games, all free. It runs approximately from 10 am to 8 pm. Designed for children aged 0 to 12. Check the exact dates with the Town Hall before visiting.

A free splashpad in the heart of the city

In 2023 the Town Hall installed a splashpad in the park: a ground-level water play area with timed jets, showers and water features that requires no pool or lifeguard supervision. The water is recirculated, access is completely free, and it is designed so that very young children can use it safely.

In a town with the heat of a Valencian summer, this kind of facility changes the equation considerably for visiting families: the park stops being a passing point and becomes a two-hour stop where the children entertain themselves while adults rest on the shaded benches.

The views you don't expect

The most surprising thing about the Ceramics Park for first-time visitors is the panorama. From the upper areas of the park you can see the Castle of the 300 Towers on the urban horizon, with the Sierra Espadán closing the background. It is a different perspective from inside the historic quarter, where the castle is close but partially hidden. Here the composition is open, especially in the late afternoon when the light drops on the western side.

For those who come to move

The park has well-laid pedestrian paths, play areas for teenagers and open spaces used for informal sport. There is no formal running circuit, but the combination of surface, shade and path length makes it comfortable for those who prefer to exercise without leaving town. Leashed dogs are welcome; for a fenced space to let your dog off-leash, see the guide to dog parks in Onda.

How to get there and where to park

The park is on Avenida Anselmo Coyne, at the northern edge of Onda. From the centre it is a 15-20 minute flat walk, or under five minutes by car. There is a parking area on the north side of the park. If you come by urban bus, lines L1A, L1B, L1C and L1D have nearby stops. The park is fully accessible: all main paths are paved and there are ramps at all entrances.

A practical note: the park has no café or permanent public toilets, so in summer it is worth bringing water, especially if you are going with children to the splashpad. See also the Onda parking guide if you are coming by car and want to combine the visit with the town centre.
