GuiaOnda is a small, transparent project. If you can't find an answer here, get in touch via the contact page and I'll reply within 48 hours.
About the project
What is GuiaOnda?
GuiaOnda is an independent travel guide dedicated exclusively to Onda, a town in the province of Castellón, Spain. It covers what to see, where to eat, where to stay, what to buy and how to get around.
It's a personal project, non-commercial, created so that Onda has the online presence it deserves.
Is this the official website of Onda Town Council or the Tourism Office?
No. GuiaOnda is not commissioned by or funded by Onda Town Council, the Tourism Office, the Valencian regional government or any public body. It is a completely private and independent project.
For official information about the town, visit onda.es.
Where do I find the official prices and opening hours of the sights?
Prices, packs and opening hours are set by Onda Town Council and can change. Tickets and prices summarises the current rates and links to the official sources: onda.es and ondaturismo.es. If in doubt, the official source always prevails.
Who is behind GuiaOnda?
I'm Javier Marcilla, an SEO consultant and web developer based in Spain. You can read more about the project and my motivations on the About GuiaOnda page, or find other projects I work on at javiermarcilla.com.
How often is the information updated?
Information is updated when I become aware of changes. As a personal project with limited resources, I can't guarantee that all details are current at all times.
If you spot something outdated or incorrect, let me know and I'll fix it. I reply to everything.
For businesses and individuals
How did my business end up on GuiaOnda?
Businesses in the directory have been gathered from publicly available sources: business websites, Google Maps, social media and other online listings. The information collected is limited to contact details and a general description, all of it public data.
If any detail is incorrect or out of date, you can request a correction at any time via the contact form.
Can I ask for my business to be removed from the directory?
Of course, no problem. Get in touch via the contact form with the business name and the URL of your listing. To confirm you're the owner, send the message from the business email address (or give me a contact number so I can verify by phone).
No charge, no complicated process and I won't ask for reasons.
Can I request that a specific photo or piece of information be removed?
Yes. If you want me to remove a specific photo, phone number, email address or any other detail, let me know via the contact form.
You can also ask me to keep your listing but replace a piece of information with an updated one.
How do I correct or add to my business listing?
Send me a message via the contact form with the correct or additional details you'd like included (updated opening hours, new website, new address, improved description, etc.) and I'll update the listing.
Free of charge, no strings attached. What you can send me and how to show up better on Google is explained in Your business on GuiaOnda.
Can I add my business if it's not listed yet?
Yes. If you run a business in Onda and would like it added to the directory, get in touch via the contact form with the name, category, address, opening hours and any other information you'd like included.
Completely free, and it will always stay that way.
Are the descriptions and ratings GuiaOnda's opinion?
No. Business descriptions are compiled from publicly available information (business website, Google Maps, social media, online directories) for informational purposes only, not as personal reviews. They do not reflect the author's personal opinion or first-hand experience of the business.
Any numerical ratings shown on listings (such as a Google score) are aggregated data from third-party platforms (Google Reviews, TripAdvisor, etc.), not scores issued by GuiaOnda.
If you feel a description portrays your business inaccurately or unfairly, get in touch and we'll review it.
How can I exercise my data protection rights?
You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability by writing to me via the contact form. See my Privacy Policy for more information.
Model and free access
Is there a fee to appear in the directory?
No. Never. Appearing on GuiaOnda is free for every business without exception, and that won't change. There is no paid plan, subscription or maintenance fee.
Is there advertising, affiliate links or sponsored content?
No. GuiaOnda carries no advertising, participates in no affiliate programmes and publishes no sponsored content. What you see in the directory or in the guides is editorial information, not commercial.
Have "featured" businesses paid for that status?
No. Businesses marked as featured are chosen on editorial grounds (relevance for visitors, distinctiveness, quality of available information), not for any payment. That status cannot be bought.
Are there electric vehicle chargers in Onda?
Yes. The Town Hall installed 7 public charging points managed by ACCIONA: 2 fast chargers and 5 semi-fast, all with Type 2 connectors. The most central ones are at Pabellón Víctor Cabedo (fast charging) and Parque de la Panderola. There are also private chargers at Mercadona, the Repsol petrol station and Consum.
The full list with addresses and charger types is on the Onda parking guide.
Why is everything free if it costs time and money to maintain?
GuiaOnda is a portfolio project for its author, Javier Marcilla. The return isn't direct income. It's professional: the visibility of the project and the demonstration of technical skill in web development and local SEO help attract clients to his professional services (ninjaseo.es and mktn.es).
I'd rather be upfront about this than pretend it's pure altruism. The practical result is the same: the guide is free and I don't charge businesses. That I also offer web design doesn't change anything about the guide: being listed is free and doesn't depend on hiring me.
