Parking in Onda is easier than it looks if you know which area to head for. The historic centre has a large, accessible underground car park, and around it there are three free or overflow parking areas that are especially useful on market days, festivals or events.
Parking Onda
It sits beneath the central market, right on Plaza de España, which is the heart of the town centre. For a first visit to Onda, it is the most convenient option: leave the car and in two minutes you are walking through the historic quarter, the market or the shopping area.
It works by the minute, hour, packs and monthly passes, so it suits both a short morning visit and a full day. The largest car park in the city and the best located.
The only downside: on Thursdays, market day, it can fill up earlier than usual. If you arrive late in the morning on a busy day, check the alternatives below.
La Cossa car park
A spacious free car park in the La Cossa area, next to the municipal football ground. Not right in the centre, but with over 200 spaces, separate entrances and reserved bays.
If you prefer to park without worrying about cost and then walk or drive into the centre, it is a comfortable alternative. Also useful when there are sporting events or when Parking Onda is near capacity at peak times.
Parada Visita Onda (Paraíso area)
The Paraíso car park comes into play mainly during events, fairs and activities with higher visitor numbers. There are bus stops nearby, making it a pick-up and drop-off point for groups or organised visits.
If you are coming to a celebration, the Medieval Fair, Onda Flamenca or any large event, I recommend this as your first choice before trying to drive into the centre.
One useful feature: the Town Hall has installed smart sensors here (part of the Onda Smart City plan) that detect the number of free spaces in real time. This information is displayed on panels installed on the main avenues and streets, so you can check availability before you arrive.
Pabellón Víctor Cabedo car park
In the sports area, next to the municipal sports hall. The Town Hall has used it as the alternative location for the Thursday market since autumn 2025, while works continue on Plaza de España, making this area a key mobility reference on those days.
If you arrive on a Thursday or on a high-footfall day, it is a practical option on main avenues with good accessibility. From here, a few minutes on foot or by car to the main points of interest.
Like Paraíso, this car park is part of the Onda Smart City intelligent system: sensors at the entrances and exits count available spaces in real time and display them on information panels around the city.
Which one is right for you?
It depends on when you arrive and what you plan to do:
| Situation | Recommended option |
|---|---|
| First visit, historic centre or shopping | Parking Onda: the most convenient and central |
| Visiting on Thursday (market day) | Víctor Cabedo or La Cossa: avoid the centre chaos |
| Event, fair or group visit with a coach | Parking del Paraíso: near bus stops and with space |
| Prefer free parking and a short walk | La Cossa: 200 free spaces, no hassle |
| Large vehicle or motorhome | Onda motorhome area, facilities on Camino Fanzara |
| Electric car | Víctor Cabedo Sports Hall or Betxí halt (fast charging): ACCIONA chargers |
For any temporary changes due to works, patron saint festivals or other municipal events, the most reliable source is the Onda Town Hall.
